Story Boarding & Animatic
·
Storyboarding is not to be seen as a simple
and pointless task. It is a crucial aspect in terms of the quality of the final
product. This is because the next stage from it is an Animatic, so
storyboarding in facts serves as a foundation for how rated the outcome will
be.
·
A prime example of a storyboard would
include images, shot distance, camera movement, shot duration, editing
information.
·
This includes arrows attached to certain
objects to show clearly the stage directions, and the purpose of it being there.
·
Make camera movement indication very clear,
so it will be coherent and ‘on point’ with the making of the film. This will
have it make sense very clearly.
·
Label how long each shot will be. This
prevents under and over timing.
·
In the despicable me 2 storyboard, many
things were clear. The fact the two minions wanted to mess about together, how
they were shocked, and how that was quickly explained by a quick change of the
location, showing them looking outside in caution from the house. This implies they
heard a noise, and further implies that the story is getting underway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=17&v=01tFHqAahOQ
·
From my observation of a storyboard compared
to the actual seen, (also viewed https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=34&v=rxqp2msGOhQ) I
can tell that a storyboard is vitally important as a rough plan reveals all the
improvements that could be made in the second attempt. The first scene had included
improved outfits which were much more fitting in the final production, whilst
the second example screening was much more humorous when they included
characters with awkward movements to make the final production much more
entertaining.
