- A huge part of measuring my audience is by seeing exactly how popular the sport of athletics really is. The more people that are interested in the sport, the more of a foundation of viewers my production will be more likely to gain, due to the area being so large already. It can rely on the the fact of what the production is about to get viewers, which aids the aim of getting viewers by quality as well.

What does this tell me about my audience? This gives me proof that my audience is much more likely to be made up of older males. But this is to not say that females are going to be near enough equal. Since the gender gap is closing in participation, the attracted audience should be a balanced-mix between the two.
Sport England has announced that there are now 2.45million people aged over the age of 14 taking part in athletics each week, with the number of female regular runners totalling more than 1million for the first time and the number of disabled participants also reaching a new high. This gives me information that I can in fact draw in a younger audience, and that my production will be most appealing to 10-24 year olds with this information, who obviously partake in athletics. I now have information about what I have for my production.
What do younger audiences tend to enjoy when it comes to genre?

Upon reading from this source, I have found that young and early adults enjoy films that have intensity within them. Semantics from the noun 'intensity' suggest that this sort of audience prefers horror, action and adventure sort of films. For females epseically, they're preferences of intensity in films lie in the genre of romance, and dark romance.
Why does this matter?
The fact that younger audiences prefer intensity suits my ideas and style of production just fine. So this is acually a factor of convinience. Most sports films have a huge factor of intensity - the competition, the rivalries, the stages, the process, the fierce battles, the crucial decisions that inhabit sports films frequently all have a constant theme of intensity within them, meaning, I further draw their attention to my production, due to the powerful combination of athletics being a very popular sport among younger people espeically, and capturing their main elements they look for in films in my production. It provides a greater chance of luring those young people who don't even like sport into my film with the implied pace, drama and action of the film. This shows me what my audience is looking for, as well as their preferences and age-on-average.
